St John is about saving lives through First Aid. We aim to have one person trained and equipped to provide First Aid in every home, workplace and public gathering.
St John is a charity that has been providing services to Victorians, since 1883, that’s 130 years in 2013! We are completely self-funded which means our volunteer and community activities are funded by proceeds from our business activities including First Aid training and kit sales, generous donations from individuals, organisations, trusts and foundations.
St John attends more than 4,000 events each year, treating over 23,000 people with a presence at local and major events across Victoria, including AFL games, Formula 1 Grand Prix and the Australian Tennis Open. Over 2,000 members belong to more than 60 divisions located throughout the state.
As an emergency support agency under the Victorian Emergency Management Act, St John members are called on to provide First Aid in times of crisis such as bushfires, floods and other mass-casualty disasters.
